Mullvad, a Swedish VPN provider has increased the amount of accepted payment methods to include Mullvad VPN codes that can be purchased on Amazon.
Mullvad VPN, a privacy-focused VPN provider has different things than most VPN providers. The monthly fixed price does not change regardless of how long you have been an account holder. The company recently announced that it would be phasing out recurring subscriptions in an effort to increase the privacy of its users.
Mullvad VPN customers can access a wide range of payment options, including Bitcoin or wire transfer, PayPal, and cash. Some of these options guarantee anonymity while others don’t.
Customers can now purchase Mullvad VPN gift cards on Amazon. The cards are available for just $ 60 and are currently 5% off. They provide 12 months of unlimited access to the service on up to 5 devices.
Scratching the area marked on the gift card reveals the voucher code. Mullvad VPN customers can enter the code on the provider’s website to create an account number and start using the service. You can also give the code to a friend or family member.
While the gift card payment option may seem like a threat to privacy, it really isn’t. When you buy the card on Amazon, Amazon knows that you have purchased an item which is a gift card. What Amazon doesn’t know is the actual code on the card. Mullvad VPN instead accepts the code but fails to link the payment to an Amazon user account.
The design of the activation code eliminates the possibility for third parties to link a payment with a Mullvad account, in order to protect their privacy.
The new gift card payment method is another option in the list of supported payment methods. Some payment options offer more privacy, but may not be available to everyone.
Gift cards are available on Amazon US, SE and DE. The company plans to launch them on other Amazon Stores soon, including the UK, NO, AU, NL, FR, ES, and CH.
