Google has changed its Play Store policies for Android developers to combat full-screen ads and VPNs and fake apps that mimic authentic software.
Effective September 30, 2022, the Play Store will require developers to stop displaying “full-screen interstitial ads” such as those displayed during gameplay or on the loading screen for an app. Ads that cannot be closed within 15 seconds will be suspended.
The new policy will not include rewarded ads, such as in-app banners that users can enter to access in-app content. This will be accepted.
Google Play Store developer policies

The company’s FLAG_SECURE feature has been revised to protect sensitive information by blocking or hiding screenshots and blocking screen sharing and transmission. As of November 1, 2022, applications will not be able to create solutions for featured content.
VPNs will be subject to strict restrictions that will start on the same day. Only dedicated VPN applications will be allowed to “create a device-level secure tunnel to a remote server,” with a few exceptions (opens in a new tab).
Access to the USE_EXACT_ALARM permission will also be updated to be limited to applications that “require exact and specific functionality” (from July 31 2022)
Fake Google Play Store apps

The change that will come into effect on August 31, 2022 is expected to be of greatest interest to consumers.
“We don’t allow apps that confuse users by impersonating someone (for example, a developer, company or other entity) or app… To ensure that Google Play remains a safe and respectful platform, we’ve created guidelines for meaning. and to prohibit content that is harmful or inappropriate to our users,” said Google in an article on its website (opens in a new tab) to announce the announcement.
The company recommends that you confirm the name of the developer (shown under the title of the app in the Play Store), that the logo matches the company’s logo and that the name is valid and not incorrect.
Other changes to the app store include the removal of health information that belies a valid payment system, and safer ads for children.
